Aqsens Health Oy (AQH) is a Finnish healthtech startup operating in the field of preventive health diagnostics. At AQH we work actively on the development of E-TRF based tests that will provide innovative screening and diagnosis services to detect health disorders from human body fluids. The company is currently operating in Finland (Helsinki and Turku) and in India with the aim to open other international operations in 2021.
We are looking for a Senior Researcher to join our team in Turku to drive our biosensor development with a special focus on bacteriophage-based constructs. The main task is to perform and analyze bioassays to further develop our novel approach to use phages in classifying severe diseases from biological samples, which includes the development of in vitro evolution processes. Your duties also consist of documentation and collaboration with clinical partners and you will participate in drafting scientific publications.
Experience with human body fluids and the Time Resolved Fluorescence (TRF) technique is a distinct advantage, but it is not essential. Work experience with various microbial organisms, display technologies, protein characterization projects and sequencing is considered of interest for us. We expect applicants to have a PhD in biochemistry, microbiology, systems biology, or a related discipline.
In your work you need to be fluent in English, other languages are considered an advantage. As a person you are a reliable and systematic performer with an open mind to learn new and to further develop the use of our novel E-TRF method. We expect a highly motivated and positive hands-on attitude and skills to work in an interdisciplinary team. The position is permanent and full-time at our laboratory and office premises in Turku.
