Aqsens Health develops non-invasive screening and diagnostic tests with the focus on early detection of cancers, urinary tract diseases, and infectious diseases.
Our Enhanced-TRF method and phage-based biosensor technology provide an exceptionally quick, accurate and affordable solution for the analysis of saliva and urine samples. This makes efficient, large-scale disease screening and disease management possible both in developed and developing economies.
Urine-based tests
Human urine contains an incredible wealth of molecular information about our health. This makes it an ideal liquid biopsy for monitoring our health and detecting disease developments.
Aqsens Health has recently developed novel biosensors for urine liquid biopsies to accurately detect urinary tract cancers and their metastasis.
Saliva-based tests
The human oral cavity plays host to a large and diverse set of microbes, including pathogens that are involved in several different local and systemic diseases. The saliva of infected individuals contains millions of peptides related to the pathogens we are exposed to everyday. This makes saliva an excellent sample type for the early detection of human pathogen infections.
Preliminary findings reveal that our biosensor for saliva can detect malaria parasite infections with very high precision.
Research projects
We are continuously developing new ways to enhance our biosensor technology and E-TRF’s sensitivity for new disease targets. Our current biosensor research line is focused on urinary tract cancers and different infectious diseases.
Other deep tech biosensor applications to monitor health and wellbeing are also in development.
